In previous sections, I have explained and partially encouraged many personal styles of play, and this is truest of the groundstroke grips.

I may not be a cheerleader for some of these groundstroke grips, along with the strokes that have grown out of them, but they do exist – tournaments have been won with them – and if you want to hit a backhand like Reggi or a forehand like Edberg, such is your right.
However, I reserve the right to de-clutter your technical vision and show you myriad paths to enlightenment 😉
