I don’t mind telling you now that this is the old Dunlop facade at their old factory in Manchester (the scene has changed forever… which is why I don’t mind telling you now).

The layers of colour from times past were clawing their way through the door with such determination, in an attempt to bask once more in light of day, how could they not catch the eye of a passing photographer?
Well they caught the eye of this one at least.
Good photographic work doesn’t require pages of art-speak dressing-up to justify it: if the image doesn’t have its own intrinsic value—usually hatched from an idea (either on the spot or over repeated visits)—what’s the point of it?
Photography is about seeing. Its about developing your own personal vision. And the Dunlop signage above the door leant itself to being cropped for both a title and a statement.
But you don’t need me to tell you the word I’ve cropped into VISION, right?
